At Riley House in Hyde Park ABCD and Eversource have teamed up since 2014 to make energy-efficiency upgrades to the property. They were joined by Verizon, Paradigm, the Planning Office for Urban Affairs, Maloney Properties and residents to celebrate energy upgrades which have reduced energy consumption by 30 percent, and have resulted in over one-hundred thousand dollars in energy savings at Riley House since the project began in 2014.

We enable multi-family building owners and operators in low-income and affordable housing to upgrade to the most efficient HVAC, lighting systems and more. We also provide upgrades to inefficient tenant/renter’s appliances and provide upgrades to LED lighting.

Low-income multi-family properties owned by public housing authorities, non-profit or for-profit organizations are eligible to apply for no cost to energy efficiency upgrades to reduce energy use of their buildings. The program identifies all cost effective energy efficiency opportunities and manages installation from start to finish. This program is part of Mass Save® and is funded by the Massachusetts Energy Efficiency Program Administrators (PAs) below. The program is jointly administered by the PAs and the Low-Income Energy Affordability Network (LEAN).

Yes, for-profit owned projects that meet the low-income requirement (50% of the development households have income at or below 60% of the Median Income) are eligible. For-profit owners are required to sign an affordability agreement in addition to the documents we already collect to prove income eligibility.

Electrically heated buildings served by one of the electric Program Administrators are eligible for all services, including the appliance audit, comprehensive building assessment, electrical upgrades, and heating and ventilation upgrades. Electrically heated buildings served by a municipal light plant are not eligible for any assessments or services.
