Program Description

This program will provide owners:

  • tools to benchmarking a development/building’s energy use;
  • an energy audit to assess energy-saving opportunities, regardless of fuel source and whether metered usage is paid by the owner or tenant;
  • grant funds to support cost-effective measures (some energy-saving measures may require co-payment, based on their cost-effectiveness).

The program will prioritize developments with high-energy usage and developments where a planned renovation or energy upgrade offers a significant opportunity to obtain cost-effective energy improvements. Key program activities include:

  • Owner completes online application (building and energy usage data).
  • Program selects developments for funding.
  • Additional information gathered about development/building and energy audit completed.
  • Energy efficiency measures selected and contractor hired.
  • Energy work completed.
